Meaning & what to do

Work zone signs

Temporary traffic patterns may differ from the route you remember. Watch for a sequence of orange signs, lane markings and flaggers, and follow their directions through the work area. Stay alert even when workers are not visible: narrowed lanes, equipment and uneven surfaces may remain. Read separate speed-limit signs rather than treating the orange warning as a numerical limit.
