Octagon: Exclusively for stop signs
Horizontal Rectangle: Generally for guide signs
Equilateral Triangle: Exclusively for yield signs
Pennant: Advance warning of no pass zones
Diamond: Exclusively to warn of existing or possible hazards on roads or adjacent areas.
Vertical Rectangle: Generally for regulatory signs.
Pentagon: School advance and school crossing signs.
Round: Railroad advance warning signs.
Use your high-beam headlights whenever possible in open country or dark city streets, as long as it is not illegal. Do not blind other drivers with your high-beam headlights. Light from the high beams reflects off such precipitation and causes glare.
